Henry Capell (MP for Hertfordshire)

Henry Capell (born before 1537 – 1588), of Little Hadham, Hertfordshire and Rayne, Essex, was an English politician.[1]

He was the eldest son of Sir Edward Capell of Aspenden Hall, Hertfordshire, who he succeeded in 1577.

He was a Justice of the Peace for Essex from 1575 and for Hertfordshire from 1577. He was appointed High Sheriff of Essex for 1579–80 and for Hertfordshire for 1585–86.

He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Hertfordshire in 1563.

He died in 1588. He had married twice; firstly Katherine, the daughter of Thomas Manners, 1st Earl of Rutland, with whom he had 7 sons and 4 daughters and secondly Mary, the daughter of Sir Anthony Browne and widow of Lord John Grey of Pirgo, Essex.
