Hazelwood College

Coordinates: 54°38′53″N 5°55′19″W / 54.648°N 5.922°W / 54.648; -5.922 Hazelwood College is an integrated secondary school in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, Northern Ireland and has students from ages 11–18. As of September 2012, the school's principal is Kathleen O'Hare

The school has a total of over 900 students.

Hazelwood itself consist of four different main buildings. Millennium, Graymount, Assembly and Cedar Lodge. The millennium building is the main building. Here you have subjects like English, Art, Drama, Science, ICT and many more. In the Assembly building are mostly Maths classrooms. Graymount is the oldest building of all. Here you are taught Music, and you can take Instrumental lessons. Cedar Lodge which is the highest building on Cavehill, teaches subjects like Religion, Languages, History and such.

Overview

Founded in 1985, Hazelwood College was awarded Specialist School Status in Digital Arts in 2007 to teach digital artwork, animation, and film making to enrich teaching. The school's motto is Facta non Verba - Deeds not words[1] (Actions speak louder than words).
