Club career

Everton

Hope joined Everton from Manchester City in 2005 and signed a full-time scholarship with the club in 2010.[3] On 19 September 2013, he signed a new contract which would keep him at the club until the summer of 2015.[4]

Loan Spells

On 2 January 2014, Hope joined League Two side Northampton Town on a month's loan.[5] He made his debut on 4 January 2014, scoring in a 2–1 win over Newport County.[6] He made a further two appearances for Northampton before returning to Everton on 30 January 2014.[7]

On 29 August 2014, Hope joined Football League Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on loan until 1 January.[8][9] He made his Sheffield Wednesday debut the next day, coming on as a substitute for Joe Mattock in the 85th minutes, in a 1–0 loss against Nottingham Forest.[10] However, with only four appearance, he returned to Everton on 29 October 2014 after being recalled by the club.[11]

Bury

On 27 March 2014, Hope joined Football League Two side Bury on loan until the end of the season.[12] He made an immediate impact at Bury, netting a debut goal against his former club, Northampton Town.[13] On 26 April 2014, he scored the first hat-trick of his career against Portsmouth.[14]

On 11 November 2014, Hope returned to League Two side Bury on loan until 3 January 2015.[15] On 1 January, despite not scoring in his 7 appearances for Bury that season, he signed permanently for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half year deal starting at the end of his loan. Manager David Flitcroft said "His potential is frightening and I love working with him".[16] His first game after signing for the club on a permanent basis came two days later, in a 1–0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge.[17]

Carlisle United Loan

In October 2015, Hope joined Carlisle United on a one-month loan deal.[18]

International career

Hope has represented England at various youth levels, from under 16 to under 19.[19] He is also eligible to represent Barbados through his father, Russell, who emigrated to England before Hope was born.[20] Hope's paternal grandfather hails from Trinidad and Tobago.[21]
