They are located at Nandeeswarar temple.State bank of Travancore is situated in this place and water tank is placed for transmission of water for total guduvancheri and nandhivaram.

Nandivaram

Guduvanchery is always officially known as Nandivaram-Guduvanchery Town Panchayat Nandivaram is the residential area of which mostly to the East of the GST Road (as well as some portions on West of GST road also comes under this)and the locality is residential and agricultural area for many decades, which is reached through and along the Nandivaram Main Road next to the Government Health Center.

Nandeeswarar Koil

The Nandeeswarar koil which is a long-standing temple in the area is located here. In fact, the place itself gets its name from this temple. This temple is believed to be ancient and built during Pallava period. It is big and should be 1000 year old. The temple remains unknown not only for most of the people in Chennai, but even to those who live in Guduvanchery.

The main deity of Nandeeswarar temple is Nandeeswarar (Lord Shiva). The idol of Nandeeswarar is big and attractive. The name of the Goddess is Soundara Nayaki, who is present in a standing posture at a separate shrine. There are separate shrines for Lord Ganesha and Lord Subramanya with his consorts Valli and Devasena. There is beautiful statue of Lord Vishnu and an ancient idol of Nandi (bull) under the holy tree (sthala vruksham). There is Navagraha Vigrahas at the right side of the Nandi. The Temple has a Tank (Kulam) on its east entrance and rituals are performed here during Mahalaya Paksha and other special occasions. Even though the temple is old, it must have been rebuilt multiple times as there is not much sign of antiques in the temple except the idols and pillars.

There is a mountain to the south of the Thiruporur Road from where one can have the full view of Nandivaram-Guduvanchery and surrounding localities. During clear visibility in summer season, the view can be extended.

There is a lake which is called "Nandivaram Periya Eri" which wide spreads and extends up to nearby village "Kattur" which can be reached from Nandivaram along the Northside bunds of the lake. This is a major water catchment area and source of irrigation for the (now gone) agriculture lands in Nandivaram.

December 2015 flooding

This lake was said to be detonated by some miscreants and factory owners during the November-December 2015 rains, which led to worst seen flooding of residential areas like Mahalakshmi Nagar, Jayendra Saraswathi Nagar, Amsa Nagar, Udaya Suriyan Nagar all on the east of GST road, and some neighborhoods on the West of the GST road also (which never faced such worst flood situation in the past) in Nandivaram and also worstly hit the nearby village Urapakkam mainly Priyanagar, JC Nagar, Abirami Nagar which flooded and submerged totally the ground floor of all residences and of course scores of cars and two wheelers drowned. The flood also cut (wash out) the Railway Track near Priya Nagar underpass (Anjukan Varawathi- a 5 span railway bridge/ culvert) which affected the railway traffic significantly for few days even after the floods.

In one fell stroke, all the waters in nearly 7 Eris, accumulated over 2+ months, was gone. And this enormous volume of water had only a narrow route to take in its course from East to West of the GST road before ultimately wending its way to the Bay of Bengal. The GST road itself was built without proper planning and without sufficient underpasses for free passage of water. Because it was built to be significantly above the surrounding area, the GST road itself ended up being a formidable barrier / dam to the free flow of water; this drastically increased the water level to the East. Besides, because there were no bridges-underpasses for the water to flow across GST road, all the water had to cross only at the junction of GST Road and Udaya Suriyan Pradhana Salai (besides SAFAA apartments). No wonder the water entered the homes to more than 10 feet. The flow of water at this junction was so great that there was white foam and roaring sound; people stopped to gawk like tourists at the rushing torrents from GST Road. There were reports of adults, children, cows and dogs being swept away to their death. Udaya Suriyan Pradhana Salai itself, a kutcha road, was swept away leaving enormous craters, especially at the junciton with GST road. To add salt to injury, despite the central government swiftly sanctioning funds, the road was not rebuilt for several months, leaving the residents to fend for themselves.

EB bus stop area

In the northern part is the EB bus stop area where the Electricity Board office is there. Next is the very popular Rogers family mart located (supermarket). Thirumagal Township (Ezhil Tower and PonMalar Tower), Viswanathapuram, Balaji Avenue, Sterling Little Flower Apartments, Ashok-Uthra Apartments, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Venkateswara Nagar are the residential areas here. Upcoming apartments like SIS, SAAFA, Akshaya homes, and Vaikunta are located here near the National Highway 45 NH45, behind EB Bus stop. The Sub Registar Office of Guduvanchery is located on GST Road, adjacent to Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank.

NPR Mahal is one of the busiest and highest class marriage halls for the Tambaram zone.

Srinivasapuram

On the south is the Srinivasapuram area. Canara Bank, Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank, Guduvanchery's post office and a bus stop are located in this area. This area is located in Sir Visveswaraya Street. There is an old perumal temple at the end of this street.

Thailavaram is a nearby village located 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south side of Guduvanchery. Estancia, an integrated township, is being developed here. Thailavaram is a developing village located along National Highway 45 near Guduvanchery that connects Chennai with the cities in southern and western Tamil Nadu.

The village got its name Thailavaram because of Ayurvedic and Siddha connections. "Thaila" means "medicated oil" and "varam" means "gift" literally in Tamil)

The landmark for Thailavaram is the Maruti Suzuki Showroom (Vishnu Cars) just opposite the bus stop.

Nellikuppam Road

It leads to Nellikuppam which is the most popular and important village in Kanchipuram District, and also to places like Govindharajapuram, Vishnupriya Nagar, Perumattunallur, Kamashwarinagar and Kayarambedu. The road eventually ends at OMR at Thiruporur, making it a vital road connecting GST Road and OMR and the coastal areas.
