Guangdong Country Garden School

Guangdong Country Garden School (CGS, Chinese: 广东碧桂园学校), is a private co-ed boarding school in Shunde District, Foshan City, just south of Guangzhou, in the People's Republic of China. CGS has a campus area of 33 hectares with more than 4,300 students on campus, from age 3 to 18. There are over 600 teachers including over 500 Chinese teachers and over 100 foreign teachers.[1]

History

CGS was founded in 1994, by Country Garden Education Holdings Group. CGS added IB Diploma Programme (International Baccalaureate) in 2001. A-level (General Certificate of Education Advanced Level) and IGCSE programs (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) in 2007. The International Foundation Year Program (IFY) in 2008.[2]

Academic reputation

CGS is a longstanding member of the International Baccalaureate and has successfully gone through 5 Year Programme Evaluations at PYP (2011), MYP (2015) and DP (2011).

Some graduates in the International Section from CGS continue their studies in world famous universities such as Duke, Oxford and Cambridge.

Some school graduates from the Bilingual Chinese Section attend top Chinese universities: Hong Kong University, Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhongshan University etc. [3]

Overseas Students Section of Guangdong Country Garden (IB World) School is an establishment where students abroad can receive Mandarin training to allow them to study in the Bilingual Chinese section, the IB International Section or apply to college.
