Seattle Grace: Message of Hope is an American comedy web series, spin-off from the television show Grey's Anatomy. The second miniseries for Grey's Anatomy, shows how Richard deals with a P.R. representative, and how he makes a commercial to help Seattle Grace Mercy West.
Production
Production
For most of series Kevin McKidd and Chris Van Dusen direct and write the episodes, respectively. Only 4 characters from the actual show, Grey's Anatomy, show up in the miniseries including, Richard, April, Jackson, and Owen. With the addition of a new character, Karen, who shows up in every episode, as the P.R. Rep that helps Richard with a commercial.
Release
Starting October 4, 2010 an episode of the miniseries was released, concluding with an episode of the cast talking about the making of the miniseries. The series was included on the Complete Seventh Season of Grey's Anatomy.
Plot
The Plot of Seattle Grace: Message of Hope is Richard and a P.R. Rep, Karen, trying to create a commercial for Seattle Grace Mercy West. They're trying to create a commercial to lure people back into visit the hospital for their medical care, since people don't seem to want to come to a hospital where a shooting has just happened.

| Richard has a meeting with a P.R. firm, to help with him get people to come back to the hospital, since people don't find it safe to go to the hospital. She makes him watch the interview he gave to someone, and it shows that he avoids the subject. She wants to start a sizzle reel, showing that the hospital is back, and better than ever. When April comes in to get the chief, he asks what she thought, she avoids the subject basically saying it was bad. The P.R. firm representative then tries to convince him into it. | |||||

| Owen is the first one of the staff to be part of the 'sizzle reel'. During the taping of his commercial, he insist that parts of his speech sounds wrong. When she asks him to make it sound like he isn't reading, he says to move the card away, and when she does so he can't read the card. Karen then says that they need a younger, and more energetic person to do the sizzle reel, and that just isn't what Dr. Hunt is. Chief then has to let Owen go in order to find a new spokesperson. | |||||

| When April starts to take her role at the 'sizzle reel' Karen insist that Jackson would be the better face for the role. April gets offended at this, and says that now she has nothing to do. Karen says that she would rather have someone who looks like Jackson operate on her, than April. Chief then has to fire April from the camp again to help the hospital. | |||||

| Avery continues to practice his part for the commercial. Karen then starts unbutton Avery's shirt a little, and says that it shows that women are the ones that are in need of this sizzler. When Avery actually gets on camera to shoot the sizzler, he begins to laugh nonstop from nervousness. Avery says that he's had this since he was a child, and Karen says that he should've said it at the beginning. After Avery leaves Karen says that they should put Richard on camera because he'll be the best for it. | |||||

| While Richard is practicing Karen tells him that he should be himself, but without glasses. When Richard is taping the 'sizzler', Karen stops the taping to put awards in front of the camera to add more effect. When Karen tries to show a patient that's just be released from the OR Richard shoots this down, and says that it would not happen. Richard then says that the 'sizzle reel' isn't going to work. He says that none of this is real, and he would not actually say anything from the script. She then says that he needs to 'pitch instead of bitch' and tell her what he wants to say. | |||||

| The 'sizzler' that was taped airs and show interviews of all the doctors that went through the shooting, and they each say that they are only stronger since the shooting has happened. They also each explain what made them doctors and why they love their jobs. After Richard and Karen view the commercial she says that it was the most honest commercial that she's made, and that she loves it. | |||||
