Golden Strip
"Golden Strip" is an informal collective title used to describe the South Carolina cities of Fountain Inn, Simpsonville, and Mauldin. The term was first used in 1953 because of the water installments added to the three cities that year.[1] Several establishments in the cities borrowed the term "Golden Strip" in their titles. These include:
- Golden Strip Bus Center, in Greenville, which is not considered part of the Golden Strip
- Golden Strip Career Center, a vocational high school in Mauldin
- Golden Strip Child Development Center, in Simpsonville
- Golden Strip Dental Lab, in Simpsonville
- Golden Strip Emergency Relief and Resource Agency (GSERRA), in Simpsonville
- Golden Strip Freeway, a highway in Mauldin
- Golden Strip Glass, Inc., in Mauldin
- Golden Strip Transfer, Inc., based in Simpsonville
