Golden Kite Prize

To be distinguished from the Golden Kite Awards of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators

The Cánh diều vàng "Golden Kite Prize" of the Vietnam Cinema Association are Vietnam's Oscars. The "kite" (diều) refers to the toy, not the bird.[1] They were initiated in March 2003 on the 50th anniversary of the association's establishment in 1953.[2]

The Bông sen vàng Golden Lotus is a better known award, awarded by the Vietnam Film Festival.
