Glenealy (Irish: Gleann Fhaídhle) is a village 8 km (5.0 mi) west of Wicklow Town, in County Wicklow, on the R752. The Dublin - Rosslare railway line also passes through the village.

Since the extension of the N11 dual-carriageway from Dublin to within 5 km (3.1 mi) of the village in 2004, it has been undergoing rapid growth, attracting people commuting to Dublin.

Transport

Bus Éireann route 133 serves the village providing links to Dublin, Bray, Wicklow, Rathnew, Rathdrum, Avoca and Arklow.[1]

Sport

Glenealy is known for its hurling. They have won the Wicklow Senior Hurling Championship 14 times as of 2014, most recently beating Bray in the County Final.
