Gilbert Elliot (priest)
Gilbert Elliott,[1] D.D. (March 7, 1800, Madras - 11 August 1891 Bristol)[2] was Dean of Bristol[3] from 1850[4] until[5] his death.[6]
Elliot was educated at St John's College, Cambridge.[7] He was ordained in 1824 and held incumbencies] in Newington Butts, Barming, Kirkby Thore and Marylebone. He was Chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1848 to 1850.
