George Whitelock (born 27 March 1986) is a rugby union player for the Crusaders in the Super Rugby competition and Canterbury in the Air New Zealand Cup. He plays as a flanker.

Biography

George is the son of a former Junior All Black, Braeden Whitelock. All four Whitelock boys were educated in Feilding.

He married hockey player and Black Sticks Women captain Kayla Sharland in December 2013.[1]

Career

U19 and U21

George has already captained the 2005 New Zealand Under-19 side and the New Zealand Under-21 side against Canada in 2007. He has very good strength at the breakdown and impressive speed.

Provincial

In 2009 George Whitelock was named captain of the Canterbury ANZC team.

All Blacks

George Whitelock made his test debut for New Zealand in 2009 against Italy in Christchurch, impressing off the bench.
