George Legge (1887 – 29 September 1915) was a Scottish amateur footballer who played in the Scottish Football League for Queen's Park.[2][3]
Personal life
Legge studied to be an electrical engineer.[3] Soon after the outbreak of the First World War in August 1914, Legge enlisted as a private in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.[4] He was killed in action on 29 September 1915, during an advance on Auchy-lez-La-Bassée in the early stages of the Battle of Loos.[3] He is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.[1]
