Frederick J. Murray (c. 1892 – July 20, 1954)[1] was an American football and basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at Rhode Island State College, now the University of Rhode Island, from 1917 to 1919, compiling a record of 2–12–3. The school fielded no team for the 1918 college football season due to World War I. Murray was also Rhode Island State's head basketball coach for one season in 1919–1920, tallying a mark of 3–8.
