History

The Francotyp-Postalia Group has been in business for over 90 years. Francotyp-Postalia was founded in 1923. In 1994 the company's activities in Berlin and Offenbach were moved to a modern factory with adjacent administrative offices in Birkenwerder. In 2006 the Francotyp-Postalia Holding AG was founded followed by the initial public offering on 30 November 2006. To broaden its product portofolio along the value chain of its customers, Francotyp-Postalia acquires 100% of freesort GmbH and 51% of iab GmbH. Both businesses are related to the german postal markets, offering additional services to handle postal process within companies. In 2011 Francotyp-Postalia made the next step and acquires 51% of Mentana-Claimsoft GmbH.

Services

Francotyp-Postalia provides a comprehensive suite of mailstream hardware and software solutions and services. Francotyp-Postalia is the market leader for franking machines in Germany and Austria, with a market share of more than 42% and 45%. Its market share worldwide ist approximately 10%. Francotyp-Postalia's most important markets are Germany, the United States, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.[1]
