Flueggea suffruticosa is a species of flowering plant in the family Phyllanthaceae. It is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine, where it has the name yī yè qiū (Chinese: ).[2]

Securinega suffruticosa contains the alkaloid securinine which has been regarded as a CNS stimulant since the 1960s, and was used to study other related effects on the CNS as a GABAA receptor antagonist in Russia and China.[3]
