Farah Mahbub (born May 27, 1966) is a Bangladeshi justice of the High Court Division.[1][2]

Early life and education

Mahbub's father, Mahbubur Rahman, is a lawyer. Mahbub passed SSC from Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in 1983 and HSC from Holy Cross College in 1985. She completed her undergraduate degree and post graduation in law from the University of Dhaka.[3]

Career

Mahbub enrolled as an advocate of the District Court on September 15, 1992. After her success in district court, she enlisted in the High Court Division and the Appellate Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on April 9, 1994 and May 15, 2002 respectively.[1][2] She was elevated as additional judge of the High Court Division on August 8, 2004 and appointed judge of the same Division on August 23, 2006.[2] She will retire on May 26, 2033.

Personal life

Mahbub married Shahriar Sayeed Hussain in 1992.[3] They had one daughter named Fareesah. Her mother Feroza Begum died in 1 December 2015.[4]
