Family No.1 (TV series)

Family No. 1[1] was a comedy show which aired on Sony TV in 1998-1999, starring Kanwaljeet Singh and Tanvi Azmi.[2][3]

Synopsis

The show had two single parents, with three kids each, sharing a house.

A widower (Kanwaljeet Singh as Deepak Malhotra) and his three kids (Rahul, Rashmi, Guddu) live in a beach house which they share with another family (the Potias). The Potia family consists of widow Shalini Potia (Tanvi Azmi) and her three children (Bharti, Tufan, Dheer).

The two families often spar over sharing house space which leads to funny situations. Later Shalini and Deepak fall in love and get together, while the six kids have comical fights (reminiscent of Yours, Mine and Ours or the Bollywood film Khatta Meetha).

The show was inspired by the American sitcom The Brady Bunch.
