Faith Snyder

Faith Snyder is a fictional character on the soap opera As the World Turns. She is the first child of supercouple Holden Snyder and Lily Walsh Snyder.

Character background

Faith spends the first year of her life as Melinda Hamilton, the daughter of psychiatrist Reid Hamilton. Unbeknownst to everyone, Reid is actually David Stenbeck who, while holding Lily Snyder hostage, kidnaps the child she had given birth to. Meanwhile, the child the Snyders believed to be theirs is actually Hope Dixon. When Lily and Holden figure this out, Hope is returned to her real mother and when the Snyders get their baby back, they renam her Faith. Faith spends the crux of her childhood in the midst of the relatively stable Snyder family.

When Faith is thirteen, her mother gives birth to her fourth child and suffers from depression. Seeing Lily's insecurities fuels Faith's concerns about her weight and she starts purging her food. She also has a crush on Parker Snyder. Faith is re-introduced - by actress Valentina de Angelis - as the character is suspended from school for smoking marijuana.
