Evenskjer is a village and the administrative centre of the municipality of Skånland in Troms county, Norway. The village is located along the Tjeldsundet strait about 25 km (16 mi) south of the city of Harstad. European route E10 passes just to the north of the village of Evenskjer. The 0.7-square-kilometre (170-acre) village has a population (2013) of 677, which gives the village a population density of 967 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,500/sq mi).[1]

Skånland Church, one of Northern Norway's largest wooden churches, is located in Evenskjer. There are also two schools located in the village, Soltun and Skånland.[3]
