Elton John concert chronology

The European Express Tour was the European leg of Elton John’s 1984 Breaking Hearts Tour.

Tour

On this tour it was the first time that Elton had performed in Poland.[1] He went on to play a further three shows there during the European Express Tour. Elton also performed in Czechoslovakia for the first time on this tour.[2] Elton also performed in Hungary,[3] Yugoslavia,[4][5] Italy[6] and Austria[7] for the first time.

The tour came to a close at Wembley Stadium in London on 30 June 1984 with an event dubbed ‘Summer of ‘84’ concert. This concert was later released on two VHS tapes called The Afternoon Concert and The Night Time Concert.[8]

The first visit to Eastern Europe was not lucrative as their promoters expected. In Italy, at one of the shows, Elton fell down twelve feet off the stage without breaking anything. "I was extremely lucky", said Elton.[9]
