Errington, British Columbia

Errington is a small community on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, located on Errington Road, off Highway 4, just south of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. It was named after Errington, Great Britain, by Duncan McMillan.

The town, with a population of approximately 3500,[1] is a farming and residential community, with small businesses emerging in the downtown area. The Errington War Memorial Hall and adjacent park host such events as the seasonal farmers' market and craft sales, in which local individuals and businesses take part.

Errington was founded in 1918 for British World War I officers to become chicken ranchers. (Reference: Dr. Patrick Dunae)
