Empire is a former settlement in Mendocino County, California.^[1] It was located on the South Fork of the Eel River 7 miles (11 km) east-southeast of Mendocino,^[2] at an elevation of 1339 feet (408 m).^[1] Empire still appeared on maps as of 1952.^[1]
