Emma Barnett
Emma Barnett (born 1985) is a British journalist and broadcaster.
She attended Manchester High School for Girls,[1] an independent school, where she said her career goals were editing a magazine or newspaper.[2] She then studied at Nottingham University, graduating in 2006 with a degree in history and politics.[3] She is Jewish,[4] and considered pursuing a master's degree in religion.[1]
She is women's editor of The Daily Telegraph newspaper[5] She is a radio presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live and previously worked for LBC 97.3 FM. She is also an occasional newspaper reviewer on Sky News.
She is a regular documentary maker for Radio 4 and commentator on women’s issues, media, social affairs, technology, politics and culture for BBC News, ITV, Sky News and CNN.
Barnett launched The Telegraph’s digital section, Wonder Women. She was previously the newspaper’s Digital Media Editor, winning awards as "Digital Journalist of the Year" by the Association of Online Publishers and "Digital Writer of the Year" at the 2011 Online Media Awards.
She was named best new radio presenter at the Arqiva commercial radio awards and twice named in the Radio Academy’s 30 under 30 list. She has also made the "20 under 30 Hot List" feature in Red magazine.
In April 2014, she was a judge in the BBC Woman's Hour power list.[6]
