East Surrey by-election, 1871

The East Surrey by-election of 1871 was fought on 26 August 1871[20 3]. The byelection was fought due to the Death of the incumbent MP of the Liberal Party, Charles Buxton. It was won by the Conservative candidate James Watney, Jr..[1]
