Sony ESPN is an Indian sports television channel which is a joint venture between ESPN, Inc. and Sony Pictures Networks. Formerly known as Sony KIX, the channel was rebranded as Sony ESPN on 17 January 2016. The channel targets the Indian subcontinent including India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The partnership was made official in October 2015, ending ESPN's longtime partnership with 21st Century Fox's Star Sports.[1] Sony and ESPN will partner together on website and app efforts, with ESPN providing and producing content such as cricket, football, tennis, NBA basketball, badminton, field hockey, golf, rugby union along with other events.[2][3]
