Academics and student life

Applications to ECWA Bingham University are either through JAMB (Joint Admission Matriculation Board).

Among prominent visiting lecturers to the school recently is Dr. Francis Ohanyido the Nigerian Public Health physician and eHealth expert.

The university has gone through a speedy development and transformation. Expansion of programmes can been seen in the light of the diploma in Computer Science kick-off at a strategic location at Mararaba, Nasarawa State. The university has capacity for 1,200 students with approximately over 250 staff.

The school activities are flexible; every member of staff and students attends church services often (Wednesdays and Sundays) as prescribed by the chaplain.

The students are corporately dressed and must collect permission before leaving the school. This is a measure to control the safety of students, reducing students exposure to the hedonist society. The school is 26 km from the Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The fast development of Abuja has assisted the area to be fully developed and has made access to the city "stress-free."

The staff of the institution work tirelessly to develop the developing institution. Great sacrifices are made to make the school competitive in the Nigerian higher education sector.

Dr. Peter M. Ogedebe, who was the ICT chairman, worked to improve the system in a short while. One of the labs in the department is equipped with videoconferencing equipment powered over a 63" plasma screen, another with two 50" plasma screens, and over 80 N-computing PCs.
