Durant (a cappella group)

For other uses, see Durant.

Durant is an a cappella vocal group. The group is a Christian musical ensemble signed under The Acappella Company, and consists of six men and women. Half of the members in Durant are children of Keith Lancaster, the creator and CEO of The Acappella Company.

Durant members include siblings Melissa Lancaster, Kim Lancaster-Brantley and Anthony Lancaster, along with Rachel Tuggle Whorton, Darren Whorton, and Mandy Wilson. Several of the members performed together in the group X-Changed at Lipscomb University before forming Durant. The name “Durant” comes from the Lancasters' grandfather and is in honor of his influence in their lives.

Their album, "Ride" received a nomination for Best Religious album from the Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA).[1]

The group was named Group of the Year in 2008 by the Member's Choice Acappella Awards.[2]
