Dunbar United Football Club is a Scottish Junior football club from the town of Dunbar, East Lothian. The club operates on a semi-professional basis. Dunbar United's home strip (uniform) is black and white stripes.
History
Formed in 1925, they presently compete in the East Region. They play their home matches at New Countess Park, to which they moved in 2001. New Countess Park is within the Hallhill Healthy Living Centre[1] and has a shared pavilion for Dunbar United and the local rugby union team, Dunbar RFC. There is room for around 2,500 spectators at New Countess Park.
The greatest achievement of Dunbar United was winning the Scottish Junior Cup in 1961. In more recent times though they have not been one of the stronger sides in the East Region, although they still have a healthier support than many of the other teams at the same level as them.
In May 2014 United appointed Geoff Jones, a former striker, captain and long term servant of the club as manager. Geoff began his career at neighbouring West Barns, playing alongside former United manager Dave Lees during the most successful spell in West Barns history.
