Drop-in center

A drop-in center is a type of service agency for homeless people and other communities in danger. As opposed to a homeless shelter, a drop-in center is not primarily aiming to provide a temporary residence to the homeless; rather, it aims to provide other services to the endangered or disadvantaged groups in the community, which includes the homeless but may also include those with addiction or members of the LGBT community. Drop-in centers usually work during day time, although some drop-in centers also function as a shelter.

While a lot of drop-in centers provide free services, some may offers services for a nominal fee.[1]
