Dokota

[1] Dokota is a small town located in Tehsil Mailsi , District Vehari, Punjab, Pakistan.

It is situated on Mailsi Multan Road.It is 70 km towards south east of Multan and 20 km away from Mailsi city towards north. Most people living around this town, in villages, are associated with agriculture. It is a main center and hub of all financial and social activities of the area. It has a great symbolic masjid which distinguish the city. People mostly living here belong to both Punjabi and Saraiki speaking communities. After 1947 partition, Punjabi speaking community migrated here from East Punjab of India. It is also a hub of political activities of Constituency NA-170 and Constituency PP-238. But as a whole, politicians failed this region. They are only focusing on traditional "Thana Culture" of Punjab. It is sad reality that a lot of population living here under poverty and away from mainstream.
