Disney Channel Turkey began broadcasting in 2007. The channel is very popular for children aged between 5–17 years. The network is based in Istanbul, Turkey. It is available at Digiturk on channel 167 and cable provider Teledünya on channel 169, at D-Smart Kanal 130, TTNET Tivibu Ev Kanal 120 and netd.com.[1]

Free-to-air

On 2011, Disney announced that a fully local Turkish version of Disney Channel would be launched as a free to air channel. It is the second Disney Channel to go FTA, after Disney Channel Spain (2008) and later followed by Disney Channel (Russia) in early 2012.

On 21 December 2011, Disney launched a test feed of the FTA Disney Channel that only aired promos and not any commercials or shows.

On January 2012, Disney finally launched the FTA version of Disney Channel on Türksat. The feed at Digiturk was also updated and the channel started broadcasting on D-Smart and Teledünya.

On 16 June 2014, Disney Channel got a new look and logo as part of Disney's worldwide rebrand.
