Disney Channel launched on November 7, 2009 and is available to the subscribers of OTE TV, Vodafone TV, Nova Greece and Cyta TV in Greece and in Cyprus it is available in Cytavision, Cablenet and Nova Cyprus. The channel has a huge success in Greece and it has the most views of Nova's children channels.
On June 1, 2011, the Playhouse Disney block was renamed Disney Junior. When Disney Junior began airing as an independent channel, the block stopped airing on Disney Channel. Disney Channel Greece started broadcasting in 16:9 widescreen format on August 18, 2015.
