Created in 1977, IDATE, (formerly the Institut de l'audiovisuel et des télécommunications en Europe) is one of Europe’s think tanks on the digital economy whose aim is to assist members and clients in the media, internet and telecommunications sectors in their decision-making.[1]

It also performs market research and provides consulting.[2]

Every year it publishes a line of market reports and also hosts an international conference,[3] corporate members’ clubs and publishes an economic review.

IDATE is furthering knowledge sharing and analysis of the core issues shaping the digital economy by creating the DigiWorld Institute.[4]

History

Activity

DigiWorld Institute

The DigiWorld Institute[11] is a European forum open on the world. The Institute has taken existing IDATE initiatives, such as the DigiWorld Summit, the DigiWorld Economic Journal (Communications & Strategies), the DigiWorld Yearbook and the monthly clubs in Paris, London and Brussels, to the next level. Members have the opportunity to participate in think tanks on the core issues that try to shape the industry’s future, drawing on the knowledge of outside experts and the Institute’s own teams.

Market research

DigiWorld Research[12] is an independent observatory whose task is to keep a continual watch on digital world industries, collect relevant data and provide benchmark analyses on market developments and innovations in the telecom, internet and media sectors – through its collection of market reports and market watch services.

Consultancy

IDATE Consulting[13] delivers time-tested analysis and consultancy solutions, thanks to teams of economists and engineers which have established their credibility and independence through the hundreds of research and consulting assignments they perform every year, on behalf of top industry players and public authorities.
