Diane Morgan

Diane Morgan is an English actress, comedian and writer. Originally from Bolton, Greater Manchester, she studied at East 15 Acting School [1] before playing Dawn in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.[2] As a stand-up comedian she was placed second in the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year Award 2006 and runner-up in the 2006 Funny Women Awards.[3]

Since then she has appeared on numerous episodes of BBC's Mock the Week[4] and has continued to work with fellow comedian Joe Wilkinson as part of the deadpan sketch group "Two Episodes of Mash".[5] She can also be seen in Sky's comedy drama Mount Pleasant as receptionist Talia.

Two Episodes of Mash

Morgan with Joe Wilkinson form the sketch duo "Two Episodes of Mash". From 2008, they performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for three consecutive years,[6][7][8] and have appeared on Robert Webb's satirical news show Robert's Web.[9] In 2012, the group completed their second BBC radio series[10] (co-starring David O'Doherty), and appeared in BBC Three's Live at the Electric.

Television

Morgan appears regularly as Philomena Cunk in Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe.[11] In 2013 she appeared in the TV series Pat & Cabbage.[12] In 2014 Morgan made an appearance in the acclaimed TV series Utopia as Tess.[11] In 2015, Morgan appeared in 2 episodes of Drunk History.

In 2016 Morgan played Mandy in Sky One's comedy series Rovers, appearing in all 6 episodes of Series 1.

Also, she appeared in the 2016 BBC2 comedy pilot, We the Jury, as Olivia.

Short films

Morgan has appeared in several short films, including The Boot Sale directed by Jonathan van Tulleken, written by Rick Edwards, which was shortlisted in the Virgin Media Shorts film competition 2010.[13][14]
