David Jeans

David Jeans (born 10 October 1974), known as Jeansy, is a Scottish drummer. Born in Edinburgh, David has played drums with The Complete Stone Roses, The Zephyrs[1] and Arab Strap.

Biography

David began playing drums from an early age, and was taught by his grandfather who was a very skilled drummer, he started playing live in various covers bands. From 1993 he studied music in Perth under Ronny Goodman. Between 1993 and 1995 he played drums in The Artisans. In October 1998, David took a full-time job with The Complete Stone Roses, a The Stone Roses tribute act. He toured with the band throughout the UK and Ireland, with Gary "Mani" Mounfield from the original band, until August 2001. In early 2002, David was asked by old school friends David and Stuart Nicol to join their band The Zephyrs, going on to play live with the band, and drumming on the album A Year to the Day (2004). In the summer of 2003, David was asked to play drums with Arab Strap on their international tour. David also played on the band's final album The Last Romance (2005). He is now teaching drumming to people of all ages after Arabstrap split up
