Damon Thayer (born September 16, 1967) is an American Republican politician. He is the Majority Leader of the Kentucky State Senate, being first elected by the 17th District in 2003. Thayer was raised in Grayling, MI. Damon enjoyed being outside, riding horses as well as being active in extra curricular activities. Damon attended Michigan State University. His father, Daniel, an avid outdoorsman and a second amendment advocate, is also a successful entrepreneur. Damon Frequently vacations to Michigan where his sister and father still live.

He has appeared on Comedy Central's The Daily Show

Thayer's former fiancée, Tonya Branham claimed in a lawsuit that he threatened to use his power to retaliate against her.[1]
