Damien Nicholas Fitzpatrick (born 8 June 1989 in Sydney, Australia) is a professional Rugby Union player. He grew up on the lower North Shore of Sydney starting his rugby career at the Mosman Whales. After playing break away and number 8 during his early years he has made his schoolboy and professional rugby career as a hooker. He has completed a Bachelor of Business at Macquarie University and is currently completing his MBA at Macquarie University.

Fitzpatrick attended the known nursery of Australian Rugby, St. Josephs College Hunters Hill. In 2007 he captained the Schools First XV to an undefeated premiership. His form during the competition earned him further representative honours later that year.

He captained the combined GPS First XV, Represented NSW at the Australian Schools Championships and was awarded the highest honour in schoolboy rugby by being named Captain of the Australian Schoolboys XV. This team went undefeated that year defeating touring teams from England, Samoa and New Zealand. His form during this series saw him contracted by the NSW Waratahs in 2008. He plays for Shute Shield Premiership Club Eastwood and won the illustrious tournament in 2011.

In 2009 Fitzpatrick was named Captain of the Australia Under 20s Junior World Cup team. The tournament, played in Japan, saw some outstanding Rugby by the Australian team taking them to the semi final in Tokyo. A brave Australian Under 20 team were defeated 31-17 by a powerful second half surge by the baby All Blacks, captained by Aaron Cruden, in the semi-final of the IRB Juniour World Championship.

He made his senior debut for the Waratahs during the 2009 Super 14 season against the Crusaders. After 5 years with the Waratahs and a run of season ending injuries, that kept him sidelined for most of 2012/13, he was contracted by French ProD2 club Lyon. Fitzpatrick helped Lyon win 2 Pro D2 Rugby competitions and be promoted to the countries Top 14 rugby competition in 2013.

His form offshore was picked up by new Wallabies coach Michael Cheika in 2016 and Fitzpatrick will make a return to Super Rugby in 2017 after being contracted by the NSW Waratahs for the 2017/18 season.

Upon his return to Australia Fitzpatrick will represent Eastwood in the Shute Shield and the Macquarie University Sydney Rays in the National Rugby Championship (NRC).
