Dhaka FM is a Bengali-language FM radio station in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

In December 2010, the station was the first to be awarded with private FM radio station license by the government. DhakaFM began broadcasting on 1 January 2012.[1] Dhaka FM is 24-hour broadcast radio station running 19+ hours of live programs.

How it all began

The journey of Dhaka FM began back in 2009, when in search for good entertainment content services, the idea for radio came to mind. It was Pohela Boishakh 2009 when the first live internet radio was launched (Radio Dhaka). The station was the first to set up a full studio with RJs to run a radio station on internet and ran 21+ hrs live programs catering to its listeners all across the world. Unlike FM stations, which have a fixed demography, internet radio with global reach intrigued its creativity to innovate programs that touched all its listeners.

It was with this fascinating experience that they thought of launching a FM radio station. In December 2010, they were the first to be awarded with a private FM radio station license amongst the 2nd phase FM licenses awarded by the government. And now, it has become the largest radio network in Bangladesh. People can listen to this radio station from any where in Bangladesh. It has a sub station in Bogra.
