D.Holic (Hangul: 디홀릭) is a South Korean girl group formed by H.Mate Entertainment in 2014 with 5 members, since debut they have lost 3 members and added 2 to the line up.

The group current line-up consists of Rena, Hami, Hwa Jung and EJ.

Since 2014, group had released one mini-album: Chewy (2015), one single album: Murphy & Sally (2015) and two digital singles: D.Holic Dark With Dignity (2014) and Color Me Rad (2016).

History

2014: Debut

D.Holic debuted in October 2014 with their first song " I Don't Know" from the digital single album "Dark with Dignity". The song failed to chart on any major korean portals.

2015: Chewy, Nine's Departure and Murphy & Sally

In July 2015, they released their first mini-album titled Chewy with the title track of the same name. The music video for the song has accumulated more than 2 million views on YouTube as of now and the song charted on music shows such as MCountdown, the group promoted the song on The Show, MCountdown and Inkigayo. Despite promotion and the music video going viral the song failed to chart on any major korean music portals, the mini album Chewy charted 19th and 69th on Gaon's weekly and monthly album chart.

On August 28, 2015, it was announced that member Nine had left the group due to health reasons.[1] New member Hwajung was added shortly after for promotions.

In November 2015, they released their first single album with new member Hwajung Murphy & Sally. The song is an EDM influenced pop song about self-empowerment, this is a complete turn from the sexy image that the group used from their debut. The song however did not achieve commercial success, failing to chart on any major korean music portals however the single album charted 33rd on Gaon's album chart.

2016: Line-Up Change and Color Me Rad

On July 5, 2016, it was announced that Dan Bee and Duri had decided to leave the group due to health reasons and their contracts expiring and a new member EJ was then added to the lineup. EJ wore a mask for their showcase of the digital single and when asked it was revealed that EJ was considered a "mystery member". D.Holic will continue to promote as a 4-member group.[2]

On July 6, 2016, D.Holic made a comeback with their new digital single Color Me Rad.[3] A rumor stated on a forum site spread about the members announcing that if they don't sell at least 1,500 physical copies of their Color Me Rad EP, they will disband. Due to the success in digital sales the number was dropped to 1,300.

Rumor spread online noted that an unknown company was so fond of the group they bought all of the remaining copies although this has never been confirmed by a reliable source.
