"Crisalide (Vola)" is a song recorded by Sammarinese singer Valentina Monetta. The song was written by Ralph Siegel and Mauro Balestri. It is best known as San Marino's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 held in Malmö, Sweden.[1] The song competed in the second semi-final on 16 May 2013 for a spot in the final on 18 May 2013, however it failed to qualify. It finished in 11th place with 47 points, which, at the time, was San Marino's best result in the competition before they qualified for the final in 2014

The time signature of the first part of the song is 12/8, and 4/4 of the second part.

An English version of the song, titled "Chrysalis (You'll Be Flying)", was also recorded with lyrics by Timothy Touchton.[1][2]

Presentation

San Marino RTV presented the song and music video to the public on 15 March 2013.[3][4][5]
