Crealy Great Adventure Park & Resort is based at Clyst St. Mary on the outskirts of Exeter. Crealy was created in 1989, with the stated aim of recreating a country childhood. It is located just off of junction 30 of the M5 and is situated in 100 acres of rolling countryside. It offers an undercover play area (75,000sqft), rides, attractions, live shows, and animal barns.

About

Crealy Great Adventure Park & Resort was initially a vision of Angela Wright and first opened to visitors in 1989. Currently owned by the Down family, the site was bought from Kings College Cambridge in 1982 with the first visitors coming to the farm in 1988 to see the cows being milked using, what was considered at the time, a state-of-the-art dairy unit.

In 1989, the site was opened as Crealy the Great Farm Adventure as a working farm. The Treetops playground and on-site restaurant were also opened during this year.

1992 saw the name of the site change to Crealy Country and additional features were introduced, including quad bikes and the bumper boat lake.

In 1994, the family took the decision to sell the cows with a view to using the barns that they occupied for undercover attractions. Soon after, in 1995, the Adventure Zone was installed.

1997 welcomed the opening of the Magical Kingdom (now called Buddy Bear’s Kingdom), which was popular with a pre-teen market.

After the turn of the millennium, in the year 2000 the first rollercoaster was added to the site alongside the addition of the Littleland Attraction, which included the Prince’s Train and tractor yard area. The addition of rides from the year 2000 onwards saw a significant increase in footfall, which led to investment into other areas of the site including toilets and catering facilities.

At present, Crealy now has over 60 rides, attractions and live shows, included in these are thrill rides, roller-coasters and splashing water rides, indoor play zones and outdoor adventure play areas. There is also the Animal Barn, which houses zoo and farm animals.

In 2012, following a successful trial period, the park opened accommodation nearby at Crealy Meadows Caravan and Camping Park. Now known as Crealy Meadows, the site offers camping and caravan pitches, themed tents, and luxury lodges and glamping.

Camel Creek Adventure Park

Terry Sandling bought Trelow Farm in Tredinnick and opened the property to the public in 1989 as The Shire Horse Centre. The property was then sold to Crealy Great Adventure Parks in 2004. Following an acquisition in 2015, John Broome CBE purchased Cornwall's Crealy and rebranded it as Camel Creek Adventure Park. The park attracts approximately 200,000 people a year.[1]

Major rides include the new 5D Simulator, Morgawr, The Beast, Raging River and Thunder Falls. Camel Creek targets younger children up to the age of six. Swampy and Dina are resident characters.
