College career

The athletic Robertson was initially recruited to play safety at North Texas. However, Robertson displayed a physicality that coaches felt would be better served at linebacker. After redshirting his freshman year, Robertson became the starter at linebacker midway through his redshirt freshman season, a position he held the remainder of his collegiate career. During his tenure at North Texas, Robertson earned All-America honors as a freshman, and Sun Belt All-Conference honors as a sophomore and senior. As a senior, Robertson led the conference in solo tackles and total tackles.[2]

While attending North Texas, Robertson became a member of Phi Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

Professional career

Overlooked by many NFL Draft pundits and scouts, Robertson drew interest from several NFL teams including the Cleveland Browns.

Cleveland Browns

Craig Robertson was invited to a tryout by the Cleveland Browns in December, 2011. Following a great performance at the workout, Robertson was signed to the Browns' practice squad in his rookie season. Following the 2011 season, Robertson was signed by the team to a future contract and attended off-season workouts and training camp in 2012. Seizing his opportunity, Robertson made plays throughout the preseason and earned a position on the Browns 53-man active roster. Among the team leaders in tackles and interceptions, Robertson has become a breakout player in the NFL and a major contributor to the Browns' defense.[3]

New Orleans Saints

On March 22, 2016, Robertson signed a 3 year, $3.98 million dollar contract with the New Orleans Saints.[4]
