"Cool Me Down" is a song recorded by Polish singer Margaret for the re-issue of her debut studio album, Add the Blonde (2014), released in 2016. The single was made available for digital consumption on 19 February 2016.[1] It was written by Robert Uhlmann, Arash, Alex Papaconstantinou, Anderz Wrethov, Viktor Svensson, Linnea Deb, and produced by Alex Papaconstantinou and Viktor Svensson. Additional production was handled by Arash, Robert Uhlmann and Anderz Wrethov.[2]

The single peaked at number four on the Polish Airplay Chart and was certified double platinum in Poland by the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (ZPAV).[3][4] It also reached number thirty-six on the Swedish Singles Chart and was certified gold in Sweden by the IFPI Sweden.[5][6]

The song won the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2016 with 277 points.[7]

Music video

A lyric video released to accompany the Polish release of "Cool Me Down" was released onto YouTube on 18 February 2016. The anime video was created by Bogna Kowalczyk.[2] Within two months of its premiere it was viewed over 11 million times.[8]

The official music video released to accompany the worldwide release of "Cool Me Down" was released onto YouTube on 17 May 2016.[9] It was directed by Olga Czyżykiewicz.[10]

Live performances

Margaret performed the song in the Polish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, which took place on 5 March 2016, and finished second.[11][12] When "Cool Me Down" was released, Poland stood on the first place at the bookmakers to win the Eurovision Song Contest.[13][14]

The popularity of "Cool Me Down" in Sweden resulted in the singer being invited to sing the song on, amongst others, Sommarkrysset[15] and Lotta på Liseberg.[16]

Cover versions

In 2016, Liam „Liamoo” Cacatian covered the song during the twelfth series of Idol (Sweden).[17]
