Colorado School of Trades

The Colorado School of Trades located in Lakewood, Colorado, was established in 1947 and began by teaching students how to repair, assemble and customize firearms. Originally the curriculum was limited to the gunsmithing trade. Later, the school expanded its reach into the farrier science program.

It is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.[1]

Farrier Science program

A farrier is specialist in care of horse's hooves. It is a specialize science that is part blacksmith and part veterinarian. Programs include hoof care as well as blacksmithing. The program was phased out by 2008 and is not currently offered. No information is available on when or if it will return.

The Farrier Science Program has been phased out as of February 2008 in order to facilitate increasing the number of gunsmith students. As of September 2008 the web page has not been updated.
