Cochlostoma is a genus of land snails with an operculum, terrestrial gastropod mollusks in the family Cochlostomatidae.
Distribution
Calcareous terrains of South Europe and North Africa.(Turkey?).[2]
Description
Mantle caves work as pulmones.[2] The operculum is horny.[2] The shell has several whorls.[2] The penis is above right feeler.[2] Sexual dimorphism is often recognisable at the shell.[2]
Ecology
All species are confined to limestone habitats.[2] They feed on dead plants and microflora.[2] Female lays big eggs, offspring hatches after three to six weeks.[2]
