Curriculum

Each Middle School grade has four homerooms, four core classes, including Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. In its first four years of operation the school offered Encore classes that all students took (Music, Visual Arts, Physical Education and Technology/Computer Skills). Due to the small size of the school, the Encore classes change based on student and instructional needs. In the 2011-12 school year students were able to choose from a variety of arts and social sciences electives, including digital photography, fine arts, media and journalism, and humanities and debate. Spanish classes will be another elective offering. In Fall of 2014, students are offered Technology, Art, PE/Health, and Civics. The school follows the Paideia philosophy as directed by The National Paideia Center. Starting in the Fall of 2013, the school developed its high school when they added 9th and 10th grade. In 2014-15, 11th grade was added and the first class of Seniors will graduate at the end of the 2015-16 school year.
