The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.[2][3]

Other versions

The film was edited and dubbed into English in a 1973 American TV documentary, In Search of Ancient Astronauts, narrated by Rod Serling.[4] This version was also shown in many schools in the 1970s, distributed through 16 mm film prints.[4]

The film was released in the UK in 1971, in a version cut to 55 minutes and as a support to the film The Railway Children.
