Chalampalli is a village in the Gram panchayat of Ganugachintha, Rompicherla Mandal, Chittoor district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located 8 km from Rompicherla and 20 km from Pileru.[1]

Demographics

Chalampalli is home to approximately 500 people, mainly from the Velama, Naidu and Reddy castes, but with a number of others represented, including Golla, Vaddi, Chakali and Harijana.

Health and education

The nearest state-run hospitals, major medical facilities, and ambulance services are located in the nearby towns of Pileru and Rompicherla, where several private hospitals are also located. Pileru is the center of primary medical care for the large number of surrounding villages.

Pileru is also the main educational center for the area, being home to the government-run Sanjay Gandhi Degree College, and to several other schools and places of education.

Transport

Chalampalli is connected by road to Pileru, which is 20 km away, and to Rompicherla, a distance of 8 km. Pileru is the main transport hub, with two railways stations on the Tirupathi-Pakala-Guntakal line, and a number of long distance bus services running on National Highway routes NH-18 and NH-205.
