Celia is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by Fox Telecolombia for RCN Televisión and Telemundo[1] which is based on the life of Cuban singer Celia Cruz.[1][4][5]

Plot

Celia" tells the story of one of the legends of Latin music major international career: Celia Cruz. We know the beginnings of her passion for singing in Cuba in the late fifties and her recognition as the most decisive singer of the Sonora Matancera. Leaving the island with her husband Pedro Knight, her career conquered markets in other languages and she ranked as the most recognized salsa singer. She honored the musical genre, her beloved and longed country and left an invaluable legacy that crowned as the Guarachera the world.

  1. 1 2 Music artist Patricia Padilla would provide vocal voiceover for the eighty songs featured in the soap opera. Padilla remained un-credited for her participation in the soap opera however would be listed in the after credits.

Audience

In Colombia, the series premiered with 13.3 of rating, exceeding the program La Voz Kids Colombia.[25] His final chapter by Caracol Televisión only got a total of 8.3 rating.[26] In the United States the series debuted with 2.38 million viewers.[27]

Broadcast

The series originally aired from October 5, 2015 to February 5, 2016 in Colombia on RCN Televisión.[28][29][30] The series aired on Telemundo from October 13, 2015 until February 8, 2016.[3][31]
