Case Closed (season 25)

The twenty-fifth season of the Case Closed anime was directed by Yasuichiro Yamamoto and produced by TMS Entertainment and Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation.[1] The series is based on Gosho Aoyama's Case Closed manga series. In Japan, the series is titled Meitantei Conan (名探偵コナン?, lit. Great Detective Conan, officially translated as Detective Conan) but was changed due to legal issues with the title Detective Conan.[2] The series focuses on the adventures of teenage detective Shinichi Kudo who was turned into a child by a poison called APTX 4869, but continues working as a detective under the alias Conan Edogawa.

The episodes use seven pieces of theme music: three openings and four endings.

The first opening theme is Nazo (?, lit."Mystery", Nazo) by La PomPon used for episode 803.

The second opening theme is Hane (?, lit."Feather") by Koshi Inaba used for episodes 804 - 816. (This is Koshi's second solo contribution to the series, after “Overture” was used as an ending theme in 2002.)

The third opening theme is Sekai wa Anata no Iro ni Naru (世界はあなたの色になる?, lit."The World Will Become Your Color") by B'z used for episodes 817 - ???. (This is also used for movie 20: The Darkest Nightmare.)

The first ending theme is Kimi e no Uso (君への嘘?, lit."Lie to You") by Valshe which is used for episode 803.

The second ending theme is Unmei no Ruuretto Mawashite (運命のルーレット廻して?, lit. "Spinning the Roulette of Destiny") and is a cover song by La PomPon which was originally sung by Zard, the La Pompon version starts at episode 804 and was used until episode 812.

The third ending theme is Futari no Byōshin (ふたりの秒針?, lit."The Clock's Second Hand") by Takuto [3] and starts at episode 813 and was used until episode 826.

The fourth ending theme is SAWAGE☆LIFE by Mai Kuraki[4] and starts at episode 827.

A murder case with the world of kabuki, a famous Japanese theater in Tokyo, as its stage, and a deduction showdown between Ichikawa Ebizō XI, a real life famous kabuki theater actor, and Conan. They found Hitoshi Takahashi was strangulated in his car.

Riichi Tengan, a popular ventriloquist wants Kogoro to help himself from killing his wife Kazuko because he had hallucinations that the doll he had wanted him to kill his wife. Few days later, the apprentice called Kogoro and tell that Kazuko was killed. Afterwards, Ran, Conan and Kogoro go to the house and found the wife lying on the sofa.

Conan feels that the situation for the case until the moment is suspicious. After he found a few more evidences and clues, he managed to pinpoint who is the real culprit other than Haruomi Togawa.

Hattori, being blackmailed by Conan with the recorded confession to Kazuha, is forced to bring in a case. He brings in a photo of the silhouette of the Kamaitachi which is carrying a sickle and running on the onsen water. When they arrive there, the photographer Nakama Daigo, and a writer for a rival magazine, Koyanagi Midori, are present to check the validity of the case. Even the landlady's son claims that the Kamaitachi saved him from drowning. The landlady, Ono Takumi, shows them a sickle made by a famous swodsmith, stored in the store house, when the light bulb is smashed all of a sudden and Heiji, Kogoro and Koyanagi get cut by something sharp. Inspector Yamamura arrives to investigate the case. The land lady claims that there was once a robbery in the store house, but nothing of value was stolen. After investigation, Yamamura tells them that there was no extra glass, and the only strange things were some cigarette butts and a piece of chewed gum. Ran and Kazuha help out the landlady's son to decorate his room for his birthday celebration, when the lamp bursts and the balloons burst all of a sudden. They also hear the owner, Ono Bonzo screaming from the annex. Since the faster way, which is through the onsen, is unavailable, they take a longer route, with fresh snow around it and reach the annex, and see Bonzo murdered with the sickle buried in him.

Conan remarks that, since there is blood on the tear on the door, that the culprit killed Bonzo, tore the door, and stuck it back on Bonzo again. Hattori shows them a groove outside, leading to the onsen. Since there are no other marks, everyone starts assuming that it was the Kamaitachi. Coming back, Conan and Heiji solve the mystery of the balloons popping all the same time. The landlady claims that Bonzo's screams heard earlier sounded exactly like the one from a recorded program. She tells them that Bomzo was kind towards the customers but was very harsh towards the staff - he even threw out a head chef. She also tells them that the two guests Nakama Daigo and Koyanagi Midori, were also present when the robbery had happened. Conan and Heiji solve they mystery with a few more clues.

A police inspector was killed at Saijo Mountain. The culprit stamps an X-shaped bird leg on the head.

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro are on a trip to Nagano, where they run into the police officers from the Nagano Prefectural Police at Kawanakajima, Yamamoto Kansuke, Inspector Takaaki Morofushi, and Detective Yui Uehara. Conan suspects again that Inspector Kansuke Yamato is Rum. They are then joined by other officers, who are searching for their head, Shigeru Takeda, after which they intend to arrest a robber. They speak to Kansuke who tells them to deliver a message to Takeda, that he does not intend return to the Takeda Group if he dies, to which the others reply that he would have been perfect in their squad.

As everyone continue to see "Yamamoto Kansuke's famous spots", Kansuke finds a human head in the Chikuma River, which turns out to be Takeda's head. They also find a burnt body, with only the toe intact, in the shore. As they are discussing the case, they are joined by their superintendent, Hyoe Kuroda. Yui mentions the Woodpecker Society, which takes everyone by surprise. Kuroda deploys the officers to different jobs and even secures the help of Kogoro. Yui tells them that Kuroda was unconscious at the hospital for 10 years due an accident, which is also the cause for his burnt face, white hair and a false right eye. Yui tells that it feels now like he is a different person, who has trouble remembering little details. Conan starts suspecting him to be Rum. After investigating, it is determined that there were two cases, which might have connections with Takeda's murder. Kuroda asks Murofoshi to keep an eye on Yamamoto. Meanwhile, Kano, who has rushed home to check on his own stash of case files, is attacked by the culprit. He is found murdered, hung by a rope, by the officers.

Yamamoto rushes to help bring Kano down. Kano forehead is also marked with the woodpecker's foot. Kano's mail receives an email from Takeda, which tells "Only three woodpeckers remaining". Yamamoto touches the rope, leaving prints, when Akiyama asks him to check it. Morofushi calls Yamamoto a suspect, due to one of the earlier cases involving his friend, and Yamamoto storms out. Akiyama leaves after getting an email, claiming he needs to change his wet clothes. When they all arrive at the robber's hideout, they find Akiyama tied to a car which is about to move down a cliff. Akiyama dies shouting about his cellphone. They find a mail from Yamamoto asking Akiyama to come there in Akiyama's phone. Kuroda puts a BOLO on Yamamoto marking him as a murder suspect. Conan, who had gone with Morofushi and Yui, discusses the case with them on the way back, finding important clues to resolve the case. When they are back, Saegusa asks Morofushi his car to drive to check on a tip he received regarding Yamamoto. Yamamoto sends a message to Morofushi saying "Go like the river".

The mail Saegusa received is from Yamamoto, asking him to help him get out of town, otherwise threatening him that the secrets of X will be revealed. Once he arrives, he is murdered by the culprit. Conan, Ran and Kogoro are returnin by train, as Conan explains the details of the case of them and the culprit is revealed.

One morning, Conan notices a suspicious man watching Officer Rei Furuya at the Café Poirot. The man appears on Conan's way home again. Mitsuhiko, Genta, and Ayumi begin to stalk him, but he disappears at a shpping street. Conan asks Rei about the man. Rei was stalked by the man three days ago. Conan thinks that he perhaps is a Black Organization member or a Security Bureau officer.

Agasa takes the Detective Boys to a cake buffet, where a toy helicopter flies into Genta's cake and they meet two blogger actresses. It is revealed that the actresses have a bet on whose blog will be popular, with the loser having to shave their head. One of the actress, Shono Kyona, asks the other, Kitami Saya, to accept loss, claiming to have found her secret. Conan finds Yonehara Sakurako to be working as Kyona's temp manager. The actresses are revealed to be staying in the hotel as they are filming a series. As Kyona leaves, Says asks Sakurako to come to her room later, to discuss something. As Conan checks both of their blogs, Haibara tells him that Kyona mentioned that Saya's secret is mentioned in her blog. Meanwhile, as Sakurako delivers her her stuff, Kyona asks her to wake her up at 5, and tells her that she will not open the door for anybody else. Sakurako then goes to Saya's room, finds a strange envelope with a black heart mark on the door, which Saya takes, but closes the door, without asking Sakurako anything. Conan and the others find Sakurako later, asking the reception to open Kyona's door. Saya joins her telling them that she doesn't have any scenes today, but Kyona does, so it would be better to wake her up soon. When they arrive inside Kyona's room, they find Kyono murdered, with the room's key card lying next to her. This is strange, since the door is not an auto-lock. Conan also finds some cream lying next to the key card. Later, when TV crew meet up with Saya, Conan deduces that Saya had a scene today, but had lied earlier about having no shoot, since she knew that the shooting would be canceled. Conan deduces that Saya is the killer and she used the helicopter somehow, but doesn't understand how. When asked, Saya tells them that she threw the helicopter away since it was spoiled. Conan buys a helicopter of his own, flies it in her room and when it is stuck, Says climbs the table to get it down. With this, Conan assembles all the clues to prove that Saya is the culprit.

The commissioner calls Takagi to tell him to listen to Conan's deductions. Conan shows his deductions to everyone. As they are coming out, Takagi questions Conan how he knows the commissioner but Conan is confused. It turns out that there is a new commissioner - Kuroda Hyoe.

A man comes to Kogoro for him in locating his missing fiancée. This leads Kogoro to three people, who are connected to the fiancée and it seems that she is already murdered by them. Conan suspects that the case was too easy to resolve. Is it really the truth?

Ran attends a concert of Risa Purple, a rising idol. Kogoro is also acting as her bodyguard. However, before the performance can start, Ran is mistaken to be Risa and is kidnapped. Things take a turn for the worse when the kidnappers find out their mistake and try to bury Ran alive, to cover their tracks.

The murder occurs in the middle of the night, with no one knowing who the murderer is. Will Conan figure out the culprit before a second murder occurs?

A rumour is floating around that Okino Yoko and Higo are dating, as they are seen together. Haibara hires Mouri to investigate. They end in an Italian restaurant belonging to Higo's former teammate and senior, Asuka Teiya. The restaurant also hires Yamada Akimichi, the Sommelier, Banba Reiko, waitress and Konoe Yasuto, waiter. The owner seems to be missing a long time, and the three employees search for him. Initially, he is nowhere to be found, but later they find him sleeping, completely covered in a blanket. Later Yasuto gets an email from Asuka asking that Higo and Yoko be brought to the store room. There they find Asuka murdered.

When they run to the place, which is a parking space and see a man, Yaginuma Takeshi, dead on the ground, apparently from the fall, and a woman, Takizawa Misaki, who had shouted, on the 3rd floor balcony of the parking lot. During the police inquiry, she admits that the man was the one who killed her husband, Takizawa Akira, and stole jewelery stones worth 100 million yen bartender. Conan suspects that the woman is not telling the entire truth.

When chasing a robber firing a pistol and escaping through the building roofs, detective Mouri even stops at a boundary between two blocks and becomes afraid of heights with slight shocks. After that, when he watches television at the office, he sees a report about a recently-released culprit, who is a chief of a company. However, a motorbiker comes and shoot at him then escapes away, cause the latter has to stay at the hospital for some time. Mouri finds that the pistol is actually the same one that the robber used and he decides to retrieve that pistol. Later Conan and him finds the biker's motorcycle and a handbag, and Mouri implies that she lives in a room. This time Mouri gets dizzy again when chasing the biker wearing with a purple helmet and a black jacket. The biker is later identified as a printing company staff named Onda Izumi. Her parents died because of the debts. When getting to the company the biker works, they are surrounded by armored staffs and even have been got out, but Mouri realized that Onda's main target is still the shot chief.

So he investigates the truth and chases on, even persuades Onda. Onda states she picked up the pistol and attempt to take revenge, but failed, and even implies that the man is her boyfriend and even leads to her parents' death. Onda even wants to commit suicide, but prevented by Mouri and both of them get rescued. Later, Eva Kaden becomes Onda's lawyer, and the shot man with other two staffs are arrested with the police are still checking their internal structure.

Conan, Sebastian, Rachel and Sera along with Amuro decide to go to a sound studio to sing songs. Upon arriving there they find no space rooms available, so they decide go down and have a rest, where members of a girl's band are arguing about their performance. The guitar player and the other members are criticizing each other. After some time, when everybody gets into the rest room, the drum player is found dead on the drum with a rope mark on her neck. Because of the angle of the security camera, the police and Conan can not know about the situation about the murder clearly.

When the investigation countines on, the bass player of the band mentions a deceased lead singer in the band. She and other members give Conan, Sera and Amuro a video of the band over the phone. The detectives even solve the case when the police are still trying to find the culprit. The culprit used the line of the drummer's hat to strangle her and put her on the drums, and is revealed to be the keyboard player, who managed to use a bottle full of water with sleeping pills to let the drummer asleep, even stated that the drummer's dislike of the former lead singer, which led to the latter's death. The keyboard player is then arrested.

The Suzuki Corporation holds a hot balloon competition, and Serena, Rachel and Conan take part in it. When one of the competitors' balloon is crashed by another champion's balloon, a woman falls out and crashed on impact. The champion is suspected but Conan thinks there is another real culprit behind the competitors. Later, he lets Serena fall asleep and figures out the real culprit.

Conan and Richard are on the way back home near a bus stop in a rainy night, but not long later a car stops and one man is lying on the driver seat and another man called Tsutsumi Naohiro is crashed and found dead, just as Officer Takagi and Joseph passing by too. The driver, Kikuchi Toshiaki, after waking up from the impact, he implied that he crashed off Naohiro when he drove on the wet road. Paramedics also find a suicide nearby. Conan even finds something odd during the investigation and he eventually solves the case with the voice of Richard.
